York was Portia Law School’s second faculty member, joining the roster in 1909. York’s association with the school would span 43 years as teacher, trustee, and finally as dean. Outside of his contributions to Portia, York served as a City Solicitor for Medford from 1918 to 1921, Assistant Attorney General from 1921 to 1927, and an Assistant United States Attorney from 1927 to 1934.
