Janine Brown-Smith attended evening classes while working full time as the Chief Operating Officer of the Cotting School, a private school for children with disabilities. Her 25-year career in the nonprofit human services industry also included her position as the comptroller for Bridgewell, an agency that provides services for the developmentally and psychiatrically disabled. After graduation from New England School of Law, she began her legal career at Foster & Eldridge. She now practices at Clark, Hunt & Embry, advocating for the rights of special needs children through representation of more than 100 private special needs schools in Massachusetts.
