Newman Flanagan
Portia Law School, 1957
Flanagan was married and a father when he enrolled at Portia, and he had to balance school with work. Even though he had little time to socialize, he appreciated the school’s “spirit” and diversity. He went on to serve 32 years as Assistant District Attorney and then Suffolk County District Attorney. He subsequently spent 12 years as president of the National District Attorneys Association.
