Virginia Morrissey McDermott
Portia Law School, 1939
McDermott was editor of The Prattler, a student paper, which brought her in regular contact with Dean Arthur MacLean. She has vivid memories of taking the bar, noting that all of the (few) women at the exam were from Portia. Despite being convinced that she had failed, McDermott passed and eventually went on to open her own law practice.
