Hon. John J. O’Brien
Portia Law School, 1958
While at Portia, O’Brien worked full time as a claims adjustor for an insurance company, attending classes at night. He had “always wanted to be a lawyer.” He calls his interaction with the faculty–at that time, all practicing lawyers–invaluable, guiding him through a career that included starting his own firm and then appointment to the Superior Court of Massachusetts.
