Postdegree Opportunities

Our LLM Program provides our graduates:

  • Qualification for a one-time, one-year visa extension for practical training that permits work in the US legal sector
  • Increased eligibility to sit for certain US bar examinations

Degree Requirements

  • Two consecutive semesters as a full-time student, starting in the fall
  • 24 credit hours (approximately 10 courses)
  • 2.0 minimum grade point average  
  • Course and writing requirements:
    • Constitutional Law
    • Law and Ethics of Lawyering
    • Substantial Writing Requirement (may be satisfied by the completion of a seminar or Legal Research and Writing I or II)

Tuition

  • $46,974 US (2016–2017)
  • Students in the LLM Program are often eligible for generous financial assistance at New England Law.

Requirements for Admission

  • A law degree or equivalent from a university or law school outside the United States
  • A minimum score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of 250 on the computer-based test or 100 on the Internet-based test

Requirements for Nonimmigrant Students

New England Law | Boston offers assistance with the visa process. Applicants must comply with US immigration laws. Nonimmigrant students should be aware that any visa or entry requirements of the US government are the responsibility of the student. In addition, nonimmigrant entrants from all countries may be required to register with the federal government.
