Law School Application Fee Waiver

Applicants to New England Law | Boston whose financial resources are severely limited may request a law school application fee waiver from the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC). An applicant who does not obtain a law school fee waiver from LSAC may request an application fee waiver directly from New England Law. The sole criterion for granting a waiver is the absolute inability to pay the fee. Only those with extreme need should apply.

Inability to pay law school application fees is validated by information furnished on the New England Law | Boston Application Fee Waiver Request Form (PDF) along with submission of either:

  1. copies of the applicant’s (and spouse’s) and applicant’s parents’ most recent federal income tax returns; or
  2. a letter verifying financial hardship from the Office of Financial Aid of the school last attended by the applicant, if attended within the last three years.

Failure to provide these documents may result in denial of the fee waiver request.

IF AN APPLICANT HAS BEEN GRANTED AN LSAC FEE WAIVER THE APPLICATION FEE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY WAIVED. Please send a copy of your LSAC fee waiver approval letter to New England Law | Boston, Office of Admissions, 154 Stuart Street, Boston, MA 02116. We cannot complete your application without this letter.

To request an application fee waiver:
  1. Download, print, and fill out the New England Law | Boston Application Fee Waiver Request Form (PDF); or
  2. Contact the Office of Admissions at 617-422-7210 (admit@nesl.edu) to request the form be sent by U.S. mail or e-mail.

Fill out the form completely and accurately for any misrepresentation could reflect on your application determination. The extra time required to process the fee waiver request occasionally results in a delay in reviewing an otherwise complete application for admission. Applicants are encouraged, therefore, to submit their fee waiver request early in the application year.

Please send completed application fee waiver form, supporting documents, and admissions application via U.S. mail to:

New England Law | Boston
Office of Admissions

Once all materials are received, the Office of Admissions will determine your eligibility and availability of an application fee waiver. Applicants are notified via e-mail of the status of their request.
