Students are encouraged to investigate scholarships from outside sources including libraries, employers and civic organizations. Additional scholarship search engines are available at www.finaid.org.

Harris Personal Injury Lawyers Scholarship

This scholarship is for college students who have suffered a serious injury and are committed to demonstrating a determination to rebuild their lives by attending college.  Applicants must submit a letter regarding their injury experience.

Scholarship award:  $1,000

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Scholarships

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. are offering two scholarships to law students:

2014 Disability Scholarship:  The Disability Scholarship is $1,000 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited college or university. The scholarship is open to students with any type of disability, including but not limited to physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental and psychiatric conditions, speech and language, learning disabilities, behavioral conditions, and all other conditions.  All students are encouraged to apply even if they are unsure if their specific disability qualifies for the scholarship.

Scholarship award:  $1,000

2015 Diversity Scholarship:  The Diversity Scholarship is $2,000 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited law school, who is either a member of an ethnic, racial, or other minority, or demonstrates commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career. Applicants must show academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited law school.

Davis Levin Livingston Public Interest Law Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to support law students intending to pursue public interest law and add to the ranks of motivated young attorneys willing to consider a career as a public interest lawyer.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S., an accepted student who will be attending law school in fall 2015, and show academic achievement, as reflected by an undergraduate cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA. 

Scholarship award:  $3,000

2015 Law Office of Steven Fritsch Scholarship

This scholarship was created to help a graduate pursue a legal career in family law.  The $1,000 scholarship will partially defray first-year expenses for a student who has been accepted into an accredited law school in California or anywhere in the United States for enrollment in the fall of 2015.  Part of the application included a 1-3 page essay, asking the applicant to describe the personal experience that inspired them to enter law school and study family law.

Army Women's Foundation 2015 Legacy Scholarships

The U.S. Army Women's Foundation Legacy Scholarship offers financial support to Army women and their lineal descendants.  Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service, letters of recommendation, and need.  The Graduate Program Legacy Scholarship applicant must have achieved an undergraduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be enrolled in or accepted into a Graduate level program (Masters or Doctoral).  Applicant must be a woman who has served or is serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

Scholarship award:  $2,500

Rhode Island Bar Foundation - Thomas F. Black Jr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is a one year, non-renewable award for full-time students who are Rhode Island residents entering their first year of law school in September 2015.  The Foundation intends to grant two scholarships in the amount of $20,000 each.  The Foundation's Scholarship Committee seeks applications from candidates without regard to race, color, religion, country of ancestral origin, handicap, age, sex, or sexual orientation.  Each award will be made on the basis of demonstrated financial need, superior academic performance, community and public service, and details as to the reasonable likelyhood that you will in the future provide and contribute highly professional legal services to the citizens of Rhode Island.

Scholarship award:  $20,000 (two awards are granted)

Alexander G. Gary, Jr. Scholarship - Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association

This scholarship will be awarded to one law student for the 2015-2016 academic year to defray the costs associated with law school such as tuition, fees, books, and similar school-related expenses.  Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to and involvement in the LGBTQ community, leadership, maturity, and responsibility.  Other indicia of excellence (including positive personal, professional or academic traits) will also be considered.

Scholarship award:  $2,500
