Students are encouraged to investigate scholarships from outside sources including libraries, employers and civic organizations. Additional scholarship search engines are available at www.finaid.org.

Harris Personal Injury Lawyers Scholarship

This scholarship is for college students who have suffered a serious injury and are committed to demonstrating a determination to rebuild their lives by attending college.  Applicants must submit a letter regarding their injury experience.

Scholarship award:  $1,000

Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Scholarships

2015 Diversity Scholarship:  The Diversity Scholarship is $2,000 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited law school, who is either a member of an ethnic, racial, or other minority, or demonstrates commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career. Applicants must show academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited law school.

Scholarship award:  $2,000

Davis Levin Livingston Public Interest Law Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to support law students intending to pursue public interest law and add to the ranks of motivated young attorneys willing to consider a career as a public interest lawyer.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S., an accepted student who will be attending law school in fall 2015, and show academic achievement, as reflected by an undergraduate cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA. 

Scholarship award:  $3,000

2015 Law Office of Steven Fritsch Scholarship

This scholarship was created to help a graduate pursue a legal career in family law.  The $1,000 scholarship will partially defray first-year expenses for a student who has been accepted into an accredited law school in California or anywhere in the United States for enrollment in the fall of 2015.  Part of the application included a 1-3 page essay, asking the applicant to describe the personal experience that inspired them to enter law school and study family law.

Scholarship award:  $1,000

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution.  To apply for this scholarship, you will need to write a 500-1000 word essay on the following topic:  Describe your educational career and life goals.  Explain your plan for achieving these goals.  Include your degree/major, why you selected it and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.

Scholarship award:  $1,000

Ellis Injury Law Diversity Scholarship

Ellis Law Corporation is happy to announce its first scholarship award in favor of students who wish to attain a degree in law.  This scholarship is available to both undergraduate and law school students who are either members of an ethnic/racial minority or have shown a strong committment to diversity issues throughout their education.  Candidates must submit a 1500-2000 word essay with respect to recent Supreme Court decisions on affirmative action.

Scholarship award: $1,000 (3 will be awarded)

Atty Anthony Castelli Veteran's College Scholarship

This scholarship is available for a current military veteran or honorably discharged veteran or parent, sibling, child or grandchild of a current or honorably discharged veteran.  The applicant must submit a 750-1000 word essay on the following topic: "The American Military's Place in Preserving Freedom for the United States". 

Scholarship award:  $500

St. Thomas More Society of Worcester County Law School Scholarship

The St. Thomas More Society of Worcester County is offering an annual scholarship to a law student who has shown academic excellence and commitment to his or her church or diocese.  Applicants are limited to members of parishes within the Diocese of Worcester and must have received a letter of acceptance from an accredited law school for day or evening division.

Scholarship award:  $3,000

Waterbury Bar Association Scholarships

The Waterbury, CT Bar Association is offering three scholarships, with one application for all.  For the $1,500 Waterbury Bar Association Scholarship and $1,000 Bar President's Scholarship, applicants must be residents of the Waterbury Judicial District (Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Southbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbury, or Waterbury) and be in or entering their final year of study in the Fall 2015 at an accredited law school.  Applicants for the $1,000 Edward Traurig Scholarship must also be residents of the Waterbury Judicial District but can be entering their second or final year of study in Fall 2015 as a full or part-time student at an accredited institution. 

Scholarship award:  3 available in varying amounts
