Alumni Advisory Council

Members of the Alumni Advisory Council are available to students for career counseling, networking and mentoring. Members have organized and participated in career panels as well as organized academic panels.

Steven J. Bolognese ('07)                                                                                        

Mr. Bolognese joined Tentindo, Kendall, Canniff & Keefe LLP (TKCK) in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, he held various leadership positions in industry including managing customer service, operational and human resource departments for both US Airways and United Airlines. Steve’s practice areas include workers’ compensation under Massachusetts and federal acts including the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act, employment law, aviation law, and general business law including federal and state tax matters. In addition to his law practice, Steve has extensive business and management experience and is a licensed pilot.

Mr. Bolognese earned a B.S. in management from Cambridge College, and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from New England Law | Boston.  He is admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar.


Daniel B. Brunk ('07)                                                                                        

Mr. Brunk is an associate at Quirk & Bakalor P.C. in New York, where he currently practices commercial litigation. Dan’s practice has involved representation of clients in industries as diverse as airlines, insurance, and food manufacturing.

Before practicing law, Mr. Brunk was an assistant vice president at Bank One, NA, where he managed operations for a retail banking center and later served as a quality analyst in the international funds transfer operations area. Prior to banking, he taught in the public school system in Indiana as a band director, achieving multiple state level awards with his bands.

Mr. Brunk is active in the legal community and is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers Association. He serves on various committees of the local associations in the areas of litigation, securities regulation, and banking.

Mr. Brunk earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Indiana University and his juris doctor from New England Law | Boston, receiving a Meritorious Service Award for Service to the law school. He is a member of the New York, Massachusetts, and District of Columbia Bars, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
 


Douglas Denny-Brown ('97)                                                                                    

Mr. Denny-Brown is principal of DDB Consulting, a firm that specializes in general business law, regulatory law, and policy.  Some of Mr. Denny-Brown’s recent work at DDB Consulting includes providing legal, policy, and business advice to a national irrigation and water conservation trade association, and providing legal advice and creating business contracts for a renewable energy company and the U.S. affiliate of a Danish manufacturer.  Mr. Denny-Brown is also a member of the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Committee for the City of Watertown, where, among other things, he assists in state and federal grant writing.  Before DDB Consulting, Mr. Denny-Brown was manager of public policy outreach for Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, a regional energy efficiency nonprofit that provides expert policy and other advice and information to utilities, government agencies, and others on the efficient use of energy.

In 1999, Mr. Denny-Brown joined RNK Communications as a start-up, created its legal and regulatory departments, and became its General Counsel and VP of regulatory affairs, a position he held until 2008, when he chose to get back into energy issues.  RNK Communications is a Massachusetts-based telecommunications company with more than 150 employees, $60 million in revenue, and operations in a dozen states.  At RNK, Mr. Denny-Brown was responsible for all in-house legal matters and state and federal regulatory compliance and policy issues, and managed a staff of seven.  Before joining RNK, Mr. Denny-Brown spent nine years at the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy, serving as a hearing officer and a senior analyst.

Mr. Denny-Brown was also chair and senior co-chair of the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association, and still participates in emeritus status as part of the chapter’s steering committee.  Over his five years as New England co-chair, he organized and moderated numerous panel discussions between nationally recognized industry experts on emerging trends and complex policy issues in telecommunications law and regulation.  Mr. Denny-Brown has also been chosen as a speaker on in-house legal issues for various Massachusetts Bar Association events, and has been a consultant/speaker for Chubb Insurance on risk within the competitive telecommunications industry.

Mr. Denny-Brown received his B.A. in government from Clark University in Worcester, MA.

 


Matthew Growney ('00)                                                                                    

Mr. Growney has become a well-known and successful investor for both his understanding of new technologies as well as his ability to build compelling new businesses for the commercial marketplace. In September 2007, he launched Rudyard Partners, a specialized venture capital firm, as an investment vehicle to deliver new consumer products and solutions to both mass market and specialized users alike.

Whether on a device or a network, Mr. Growney explores technologies that implement or integrate content and software so that consumer expectations with new innovations can be surpassed. He is focused on the monetization of old and new media and its interface with various combinations of bits and atoms. He is founder & CEO of Isabella Products, a revolutionary new consumer electronics company that launched its first product, Vizit™, in spring 2009.

Prior to creating Rudyard Partners, Mr. Growney was co-founder and managing director of Motorola Ventures (MV), the corporate venture capital arm of Motorola, Inc. Matthew was directly responsible for building investment offices in Boston, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, and Beijing. He co-managed a $350M portfolio of 70+ companies. Matthew created the investment program in 1997 and established it as one of the premier corporate venture practices in the world. He developed MV’s investment thesis around monetizing both strategic and financial returns. He focused on emerging networks (3G, 4G, Wireline, Cable), new media, mobile devices, Web 2.0, enterprise software, and material science. He was responsible for making investments in innovative companies like E Ink, A123, Xanboo, Airclic, Cedarpoint Communications, Snaptrack, Camero, Ocean Broadband, and Netomat. He has also served on both the Investment Committee and the Board of Directors for Shanghai NewMargin Ventures, one of the leading domestic venture capital firms in China.

Mr. Growney serves on the board of advisors for Sigma Capital Partners, a specialized private equity firm in New York. He is also a board advisor to Collective IQ, a corporate venturing firm in Atlanta focused on providing Fortune 2000 companies with strategic investment advisory and business development services.

Mr. Growney serves as chairman of the advisory board for the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship in New England, a non-for-profit focused on developing entrepreneurship criteria for low-income high school students. He is also involved with the Ad Hoc Technology Committee for the Boston Children’s Museum. In November 2005, Mr. Growney was named one of Boston’s “40 under 40″ by the Boston Business Journal for his professional achievement and community contributions in New England. He has been a featured speaker around the world and contributed to several books both on innovation and venture capital.

Mr. Growney graduated from Michigan State University (B.A.) and the New England Law | Boston (JD). He has also studied software at Harvard University and civil law with Loyola University-New Orleans in Costa Rica. Matthew is fluent in French, speaks Japanese, and is learning Mandarin.
 


Kelly Kneeshaw-Price ('09)                                                                                        

Ms. Kneeshaw-Price graduated from New England Law | Boston in 2009. During her third year she served as the student fellow for the Center for Business Law and helped organize academic programs, conducted legal research, and coordinated student projects. She also served as a research assistant for Professor Susan Finneran. In addition, after her first year, she interned with Volunteer Legal Services in Washington state. This organization coordinates pro bono legal services for low income individuals.

Ms. Kneeshaw-Price received her B.A. and B.F.A. degrees from the University of Washington. She was admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar in December 2009.
