Commercial Law Institute

The main objective of the Commercial Law Institute is to engage students, academics, and practitioners in serious conversations about current issues in commercial law, including trans-national commercial law. To meet this objective, the institute sponsors an annual conference bringing together experts from the United States and abroad to share their expertise on current legal issues and challenges faced in the practice of commercial law. The institute has benefitted greatly from co-sponsorship by other entities in the Boston metropolitan area.

session for the annual conference.

A second purpose of the institute is to facilitate networking among students and practitioners. To that end, students have been invited into sessions of the Business Law Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association and have been deeply involved in conference planning.

Finally, the faculty involved with the institute serve as counselors to students trying to devise their individual pathways into a commercial law practice.
