(Boston, Revised 11/13/09) New England Law | Boston: Ms. Berg started her career as a lawyer in Ottawa practicing refugee and family law-with a focus on cases of gender based violence. Ms. Berg has extensive legal experience in the international field, which includes working with UNHCR in northern Uganda, and in the Central African Republic, and for UNICEF as a Senior Child Protection Officer in Khartoum, Sudan. Moreover, she has also has worked with the American Refugee Committee in Macedonia, Norwegian Refugee Council in south Sudan running legal programs, as well as with the International Rescue Committee in Darfur, as Protection Coordinator. She has also worked in Macedonia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Nigeria as an elections supervisor, and Rwanda (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) and Kosovo as a human rights advisor.
Currently, Ms. Berg works at War Child Canada, a Canadian charity, which is dedicated to providing urgently needed humanitarian assistance to war-affected children around the world.
