Jerrry Spegman (Class of 1982)
American Cancer Society, Portland, OR
I am currently the director of the American Cancer Society's legislative advocacy program in AK, MT, OR and WA - earlier in my career I practiced for six years with legal services programs in MN and NH. I'm glad to hear that NESL is committed to fostering an interest among students in public service work.. During my years at NESL ('79-'82) my involvement at the school's Clinical Law Office, located in Malden at the time and on the Journal of Civil and Criminal Confinement, significantly influenced the direction of my career path (a winding one, but generally quite satisfying).
