Andrew P. Cornell ('94) received the Pro Bono Publico Award from the Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Foundation at the Annual Access to Justice Awards Luncheon. A sole practitioner in Cambridge, Mr. Cornell was recognized for his volunteer efforts with Community Legal Services and Counseling Center (CLSACC). He has volunteered at CLSACC for eight years, during which he has handled 19 complex family law cases involving domestic violence. He has also been successful in encouraging other attorneys to accept pro bono family law cases. In his remarks at the awards luncheon, held in conjunction with the Massachusetts Bar Association's annual conference in January 2003, Mr. Cornell praised NESL and credited Clinical Professors Ilene Klein and Barbara Oro with preparing him for practice and encouraging him to pursue public service.
