After leaving Boston I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona (talk about a culture shock). For awhile I worked for a small firm, but now I am with DNA-People's Legal Services, Inc. I started as a volunteer and they hired me as a staff attorney and, in time, promoted me to Managing Attorney.
With nine offices in three states DNA-People's Legal Services is the nation's oldest legal aid and the largest legal aid serving Native Americans. Our work is strictly civil and limited to specific legal areas -- Consumer Protection, Economic Development, Employment, Family Law, Housing, Native American Protection and Advocacy and Public Benefits. We have recently reorganized into teams with emphasis on these main practice areas and a Client Services Unit which provides brief consultation and advice.
