Julian Young, partner of the British law firm Julian Young & Co., will be a guest of the CLSR this Friday, November 6, at 3 pm at the St. James Conference Room and will speak about his work that led to the exoneration of Sean Hodgson. Mr. Hodgson spent nearly 30 years in prison for a murder which he did not commit, and his innocence was proved through the use of DNA evidence. Beyond Mr. Hodgson’s story of exoneration, Julian Young will discuss topics such as the death penalty, public funding for indigent defense, how this affects the quality of justice actually delivered, and criminal justice policy in the United Kingdom as compared to the United States as well as procedural differences between the two systems.
