10/30/09 CLSR Fellows Speak about Immigration Law
(Boston, Revised 11/13/09) New England Law | Boston: Past and present CLSR fellows, Sidra Vitale '07 and Adonia R. Simpson '09, discussed their personal and professional experiences in the field of immigration law. The event was of interest to students considering immigration law and those with a general interest in agency practice.
Vitale was the 2007-2008 Fellow, and her project included representing 26 residents of Brockton and West Bridgewater, MA, and appearing pro bono before the Energy Facilities Siting Board and other agencies in opposition to a proposed power plant. After concluding her fellowship she joined Ross & Associates and has been involved in immigration and litigation work. She appears before the Customs & Immigration Service, the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals for immigrant clients seeking asylum or other forms of relief from removal from the United States.
Simpson, the current Fellow, is working with Special Immigrant Juveniles for her project and has been collaborating with Jane G. Rocamora of the Harvard Immigration Clinic at Greater Boston Legal Services.
