The CLSR Environmental Advocacy Project

The EAP brings together law professors, students, and other members of the environmental community to study, aid and promote environmental causes. While EAP projects vary as widely as the interests of the students who develop them, a primary focus of our work is environmental advocacy in the New England States.

The EAP maintains active connections with a variety of environmental advocacy groups and government offices, and collaborates with such groups on projects. A sampling of past projects include:

  • Working with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs on Natural Resource Damage claims.
  • Working with Alternatives for Community and Environment to represent citizens opposed to a power plant siting in an urban, middle classed neighborhood.
  • Working with a Belize-based environmental organization to combat a dam project that threatened the surrounding natural environment.
  • Working with the Healthy Public Housing Initiative to promote integrated pest management in Boston's public housing neighborhoods.
