Cap and Gown Orders

Deadline: Thursday, April 11, 2013

University Cap & Gown is supplying the caps and gowns. If you plan to attend graduation, you must complete a cap and gown measurement form and submit it to University Cap & Gown on or before ___________. A late order fee will be assessed to all student orders not submitted by this deadline.

There are two ways to order:

On campus measurement

University Cap & Gown staff will be in the lobby of 154 Stuart Street to help with filling out the measurement forms and collecting completed measurement forms on the following days:
  • Wednesday, March 13, 1-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 10, 1-6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11, 1-6:30 p.m.

Online measurement

If you are unable to make any of the fitting times above, a web based order form is located at _____________.

There is no charge for the cap and gown rental; however, each student will have to place a security deposit in the amount of $200 with a credit card or check.  Checks will be destroyed or the authorization hold will be released on the credit card once regalia is returned by May 24, 2013.

University Cap & Gown staff will distribute regalia directly to students on campus in Room XXX on the following days:
  • Wednesday, March 14, 1-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 11, 1-6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 12, 1-6:30 p.m.
Regalia will be individually packaged with the student's name affixed to the packaging.

For students unable to make the scheduled regalia distribution, there are two options:

Regalia shipped to you

University Cap & Gown can ship regalia via UPS (approximate charge $12-18 for standard ground shipping) to the graduate. This charge is collected directly from the student and is not covered by New England Law.

Pick-up by another student

A student may pick up regalia for another graduate if they have the other graduate’s student ID.

Following Commencement, University Cap & Gown representatives will have a table in the library where they will collect the caps and gown directly from graduates.  [Back to top.]

Senior Class Reception

RSVP Deadline: Friday, May 3, 2013
Members of the Class of 2013 are invited to attend the Senior Class Reception to celebrate their upcoming graduation. The reception will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel, located at 200 Boylston Street. Invitations will be distributed with the Commencement invitations and envelopes (see the Commencement Invitations and Envelopes distribution schedule).

Please R.S.V.P. by Friday, May 3, to Patricia Gresham at 617-422-7260 (no e-mails please). You must present your invitation and your student I.D. at the door to gain admission to the party. Because this event is intended to provide an opportunity for students to celebrate with faculty and trustees before graduating, we do not encourage students to bring guests. If you do wish to bring one guest there will be a charge of $50, which may be paid at the door.

Invitations to this event may not be given away or transferred to another individual. (Such invitations will not be honored.)  [Back to top.]
