Pro Bono Legal Work and Public Service Transcript Notation

Students at New England Law | Boston have the opportunity to enhance their experiential learning by performing volunteer legal work. Law students volunteer by taking on pro bono positions as part of their clinical courses, through student groups, or by identifying volunteer opportunities on their own.

Many law student volunteers obtain credit for pro bono work if it is completed in conjunction with a clinical course. Students also work in paid positions at public interest organizations during the summer or on a part-time basis during the school year.

Pro bono work at New England Law is organized and implemented primarily by the Center for Law and Social Responsibility. Students performing a minimum of 25 hours of qualifying legal work are eligible to receive transcript recognition of such work through New England Law's Public Service Transcript Notation Program.
