Law in a global context.
“With seven study-abroad programs to choose from, our students are immersed in the structure and practice of international legal systems—which in turn strengthens their understanding of the American system.”
Professor Philip K. Hamilton, Director, New England Law Galway Summer Program
Through the Consortium for Innovative Legal Education (CILE), of which New England Law is a founding member, students have several opportunities to study abroad for either a summer or a semester. Courses of study include international and comparative law topics in such areas as human rights, juvenile justice, human rights in intellectual property and corporate law, civil and criminal lawsuits (comparing UK and U.S.), constitutional history (comparing UK and U.S.), environmental law, and international mediation.
New England Law is also one of the few law schools in the world that regularly places students in summer and semester-long clinical positions and externships with the International Criminal Court and tribunals in The Hague.
For further information on any of New England Law’s opportunities to study abroad, please contact Professor Philip K. Hamilton or telephone 617-451-0010.
