New England School of Law Grant
This gift aid program provides grants in varying amounts to financially needy students to help offset educational expenses.
MacLean Grant
This grant program is named for the founder of the law school, Arthur W. MacLean. It is especially designed to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Awards are considered gift aid that need not be repaid and vary in amounts depending on financial need.
Jacqueline G. Lloyd Grant
This grant program is named after a graduate of the law school. It is specifically designed to assist students from minority backgrounds. Award amounts vary depending on financial need.
Arthur V. Getchell Grant
Arthur Vinton Getchell was a president of the law school corporation. In his memory, 28 one-quarter or one-half tuition grants are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Four of the grants are allotted for each class in the day and evening divisions.
Hon John F.X. Davoren Grant
The Hon. John Davoren was a long time trustee of the law school. This program provides grants in varying amounts to students demonstrating financial need. Awards are considered gift aid that need not be repaid.
Abraham P. Yarchin Grant
Abraham P. Yarchin was a long-time trustee of the law school. This program provides grants in varying amounts to students demonstrating financial need. Awards are considered gift aid that need not be repaid.
Charles Hamilton Houston Scholarships
A limited number of these full-tuition scholarships have been set aside as part of the school's Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program. These scholarships were established in recognition of the special needs often experienced by students of Afro-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native-American backgrounds.
Trustee Academic Scholarships
Ten Trustee Scholarships are awarded each September to the two students in each class of the day and evening divisions who earned the highest grade-point-average for the previous year at New England School of Law. These half-tuition scholarships require no application. They are awarded automatically to the highest ranking students in each class, based on the previous year's average, with a minimum of 12 graded credits for day division students and 9 graded credits for evening division students. Trustee Scholarships are determined at the beginning of each fall semester.
Justice Sandra Day O'Connor Merit Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to incoming students who demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and promise. All students are considered for these scholarships without further application. Award amounts vary.
NESL Merit Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to incoming students who demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and promise. All students are considered for these scholarships without further application. Award amounts vary.
Mark S. Charbonnier Memorial Scholarships
These two scholarships are given in memory of a Massachusetts state trooper who was awarded a J.D. posthumously after being killed in the line of duty during his third year at New England School of Law. The scholarships are open to applicants engaged full-time in law enforcement in Massachusetts, who are in their final year of the evening division.
