“A remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience"
(Boston, Revised-5/3/13) New England Law | Boston: Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr., will once again teach in an international summer program offered by New England Law | Boston. Chief Justice Roberts will serve as a 2013 faculty member in Prague, Czech Republic, teaching “The U.S. Supreme Court in Historical Perspective”; this represents the third time that our students have had the opportunity to learn from the nation’s preeminent jurist in the past five years.
Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.
“I am very grateful to Chief Justice Roberts for so graciously accepting the invitations I have extended to him to teach in our summer programs,” said Dean John F. O’Brien. “Students who have taken his class in previous years have commented that it was a remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
New England Law summer program students have repeatedly benefitted from exposure to jurists from the High Court. In 2011, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy
visited the Galway program as a guest-lecturer, and Justice Antonin Scalia taught in 2008. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, and Justice Clarence Thomas have also addressed faculty and students in recent years at the law school in Boston, most recently in November 2012 when Justice O’Connor made her third visit to campus
