UOP-X

University of Paris X-Nanterre

Students may spend a semester studying at the University of Paris campus in Nanterre, France, where they can take courses in international, French, and European law. Participating students are required to be fluent in French, which is the language of instruction for all courses; students may take an intensive refresher course in French before the semester begins. Students may earn a diploma in European and international legal studies by completing specific requirements, which is usually possible in one semester.

The Nanterre campus is located west of Paris, about ten minutes from the Champs Elysées by rapid rail service. It is close to a major international financial and commercial center, the Trade Center at La Défense. Approximately 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including about 8,000 law students, attend the University of Paris X. The law faculty specializes in international trade law, human rights law, and labor law, among other subjects, and the university library is one of the best in France.

Students may live in the university's residence halls and eat in student cafeterias. The campus includes tennis courts and a well-equipped sports and recreation center.
