Professor Eric A. Lustig is the director of the Center for Business Law.

Real-World Learning

Students can gain hands-on experience in litigation, transactional practice, and compliance work through placements ranging from small law firms, to large publicly held corporations and government agencies.

Attorney-supervised internships are available through the following offerings.

Conferences, Symposia, and Colloquia

The signature event of the Center for Business Law is the annual Commercial Law Conference that presents some of the foremost scholars on important issues relating to trade and commerce, including remedies and international commercial transactions. In addition, the center frequently hosts expert panels and colloquia on hot-button issues, such as the legal aspects of corporate use of personal data and trademark law in the pharmaceutical industry.

Moot Court/Mock Trial

Faculty members coach New England Law’s moot court and mock trial teams for national competitions, such as the National Tax Moot Court Competition and the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition in intellectual property law, which sharpen students’ courtroom and litigation skills.

Students also work with the Center for Business Law faculty in researching business law review articles and casebooks and identifying pro bono work opportunities in the business world.
