Oil Spills
- Alaska Resources Library and Information Services (ARLIS) - Part of the 1991 settlement in the Exxon Valdez case was the establishment of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Council Trust to administer recovery efforts, etc. The Council Trust created a library by partnering with six state and federal agencies and a university institute to consolidate their collections in Alaska natural resources. "[T]he collection includes 250,000 books, 700 journals, 400 electronic journals and databases, countless maps, photographs, CDs and DVDs, and environmental education materials. Additionally thousands of full-text publications are available through the ARLIS catalog at http://www.arlis.org."
- Deepwater Horizon Response - This Unified Command has been established to manage response operations to the April 20, 2010 “Deepwater Horizon” incident, which has caused ongoing devastation in the gulf. The site links the organizations responding to the incident and provides a forum for those organizations to make consensus decisions.
