Professor Berman teaches Torts, Health Law, Public Health Law, Products Liability, and Criminal Law. Prior to joining the New England faculty in 2008, he established and directed the Tobacco Public Policy Center at Capital University Law School, a legal resource center for tobacco control advocates in Ohio. He also served as a visiting professor and adjunct professor at Capital University Law School. Previously, he was a trial attorney with the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division and a litigation associate with the law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP. Professor Berman speaks and writes about tobacco control, public health policy, and health-related litigation. In 2008, Professor Berman was appointed by the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to a four-year term on the NIH's Council of Public Representatives.
