Criminal/Litigation History

If you answer YES to any of the following questions, please contact Professor Engler, at rengler@nesl.edu since your clinic options may be affected.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony that has not been expunged or vacated?

Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor (other than a first conviction for drunkenness, simple assault, speeding, minor traffic violations, affray or disturbance of the peace) in the past 5 years that was not expunged or vacated?

Are you a named party in any pending litigation?

Note: Many placements, including DA's Offices, the Attorney General's Office and other government offices conduct rigorous background checks in determining whether to accept a student. Your admission to the clinic means only that you are eligible under the school's rules, and not that any particular placement will accept you. Consider your own background in selecting clinics and placements, and have a back-up plan in case your placement of choice does not work out.

Your electronic signature below attests to the truth and accuracy of your responses to the Criminal/Litigation History questions.
