There are many leadership positions available within the SBA:
Executive Board
The Executive Board is comprised of the President, Vice President Evening Division, Vice President Day Division, Treasurer, and American Bar Association Delegate. The Executive Board's daily operations include policy initiation, emergency and minor decision-making, and the implementation and creation of social and professional programs that impact the law school and its community at large. These positions are elected by the entire student body in April of the previous year for which they were elected.
Representatives
Each section of each division will elect two representatives to serve in the General Assembly. These representatives will serve to represent the interests of their constituents and bring their concerns to the attention of the SBA during legislative sessions. Responsibilities include aiding the administration on differing programs, as well as providing legislative debate and voting upon issues that come to the SBA floor. First year representatives are elected by their respective sections in September of the academic year for which they were elected. Upper division representatives are elected by their respective divisions in April of the previous academic year.
Executive Offices and Committees
Historically at New England School of Law, student appointment and active participation in Executive Offices and Committees has comprised a large part of the student leadership roles. As a New England School of Law student, appointment into such offices can be one of the most fulfilling experiences and an opportune time to become involved in student governance. These positions are vital to the successful operation of the Student Bar Association. With the exception of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, each Chair and Co-Chair applicant will be reviewed by the SBA Executive Board with all final appointment decisions to be made by the SBA President. In addition to SBA Executive Offices and Committees, students may also be interested in serving as an esteemed appointee to one of many faculty committees. Please click on the link to the left to see a list of the various faculty committees.
