Michael Curry, Esq. serves as President & CEO, and former General Counsel, of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (the “Mass League”), which represents 51 health centers across the Commonwealth, serving over one million patients out of 300 practice sites. Curry is also the past president of the Boston Branch of the NAACP (2011-2016), and has over twenty years of dedicated service to the NAACP on the city, state-area conference and national levels. He was elected to the National NAACP Board of Directors in 2014 by the approximately 2,200 branches across the country, and was reelected in 2017 and again in 2020. He serves on the National NAACP’s Executive Committee, and chairs the national board’s Advocacy & Policy Committee, and vice-chairs the Political Action and Legislation Committee.
Curry has received numerous local and national awards for leadership and advocacy, including recently being named by Boston Globe and the Boston Globe Magazine as a Bostonian of the Year, and he’s frequently requested as a keynote speaker and panelist on a wide range of civil rights, legal and health policy issues. He is a regular commentator on the local National Public Radio Broadcast/WBUR Boston, WGBH Radio, as well as on television with WGBH, WBZ and New England Cable News/NBC Boston, on a wide range of political, cultural and social issues.
