Professional Background

Wendy Murphy, Esq. is Co-Director of the Women's and Children's Advocacy Project under the Center for Law and Social Responsibility at New England Law. Since 1993, Murphy has also dedicated her career to representing crime victims in civil and criminal cases and working as an impact litigator, filing test cases to change the law and improve civil rights and constitutional rights for women and children. She writs and lectures widely on women's and children's rights, and criminal justice policy.

Murphy previously worked for a number of television giants, including NBC, CBS, CNN, and Fox News Channel. Her platform as a television legal analyst has enabled her to help women and children better understand their rights. Murphy has been a pioneer in Title IX work and addressing violence towards women in college. Some of the cases she filed were amongst the first in the nation to demonstrate the legal relationship between Title IX and sexual assault on campus. She has taught at New England Law for 20 years.
