Professional Background

Professor Louisa Gibbs is a Visiting Clinical Professor of Law in New England Law’s Clinical Law Office. She is a 2014 alum of New England Law, cum laude, where she earned her JD after graduating magna cum laude from Rollins College, Florida, in England Literature and Critical Media and Cultural Studies.

After graduating from New England Law, Professor Gibbs served as an AmeriCorps Fellow for Rosie’s Place/Greater Boston Legal Services in the Housing and Family Law Units, before she served as a Term Clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Rhode Island. For the past four years, she has served as a Staff Attorney at the Northeast Justice Center in the Affirmative Litigation Unit, where she affirmatively represented indigent clients in housing and consumer cases before housing and superior court across Northeastern Massachusetts. Most notably, she was lead counsel on a class action comprised of over three-hundred members.
