Professor Charles Sorenson served as associate dean from 2004 to 2006. During that time he supervised the law school’s judicial internship programs and directed the summer abroad program in Galway, Ireland. Before joining the New England Law faculty in 1991, he was a trial attorney with the Federal Programs Branch, Civil Division, US Department of Justice. He previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable Donald R. Ross of the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
In 2012, Professor Sorenson was appointed to a five-year term on the Committee on Judicial Ethics by the justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He has written articles on civil procedure, first amendment rights, and legal ethics.
