BOSTON – June 04, 2020 – New England Law | Boston today announced that 1L student Farnaz Daneshvaran has been selected for the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Diversity & Inclusion Summer Fellowship Program. As part of the program, Farnaz will serve this summer as a legal fellow in the General Counsel’s Office at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

As part of the Fellowship, Farnaz will assist with evaluating legal strategy, prepare discovery requests and responses, interview witnesses, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents. Additionally, she will attend professional development programs at the BBA throughout the summer and will be matched with a mentor from the Diversity & Inclusion Section who will provide ongoing professional development guidance. She will also participate in networking events and mentorship opportunities at the law firm Pierce Atwood.

Farnaz credits support from the New England Law community for her decision to apply to the Fellowship program. She is a member of the Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program and the First Generation Students Program at New England Law – groups that celebrate diversity in law school and encourage students to pursue opportunities that might not otherwise be available to them.

“My professors and peers at New England Law really pushed me to remember that the diversity I bring to the table should be valued,” said Farnaz. “When I interviewed for the Fellowship position, I realized a diversity position was perfect for me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

Farnaz will receive a $5,000 stipend for the summer through the Diversity & Inclusion Summer Fellowship Program. This program is organized by the Boston Bar Association and funding for the Summer 2020 Fellowship position at the MCAD is sponsored by Pierce Atwood.
