Administrative Law Clinic

Better understand how government administrative agencies are governed and regulated. This clinic provides fieldwork placements at government agencies, as well as organizations or offices that interact with these agencies.

Where You’ll Work

Given the broad range of possible placements, your experience can range from acting as a law clerk to an administrative law judge or hearing officer to advocating before an agency.

Seminar & Clinic Details

The Seminar

You’ll meet in a weekly seminar with the course instructor and/or the clinical director to explore the relationship between the principles covered in the class and your fieldwork. You’ll also submit weekly journals, describing and reflecting on your field experiences.

Fieldwork

You’ll work 15 hours each week in your placement.

This course satisfies New England Law’s experiential education requirement. Eligibility for this course is dependent on successful completion of a background check.

When can I take this clinic?

You’re eligible to take this seminar and clinic or another in your second year. You may take up to four clinics before you graduate.

What does this course entail?

You must work 15 hours a week in your placement, submit a weekly journal reflecting on your experiences, and share them in a weekly seminar with the course instructor and/or the clinical director.
