Professional Background

Upon graduating from Boston University School of Law, Alexandra Lavin joined Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, LLP.  She represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, and early-stage pharmaceutical companies in civil litigation, with an emphasis on securities litigation and enforcement.  While at the firm, Ms. Lavin had a robust pro bono practice focused primarily on prisoner advocacy litigation.  Ms. Lavin also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Indira Talwani in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  Since 2020, Ms. Lavin has worked in the Division of Enforcement at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, where she investigates potential violations of the federal securities laws.
