Professional Background

Jon Menitove currently serves as a staff attorney at the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission, where he is a member of the Asset Management Unit in the Division of Enforcement.  In that role, he investigates and charges violations of the federal securities laws, with an emphasis on misconduct by investment advisers, investment companies, and private funds.  Jon also regularly represents the Commission in litigated proceedings.  Prior to joining the Commission, Jon spent over ten years at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York, where he worked as an associate and then counsel in the litigation department.  Early in his career, Jon clerked for the Hon. Robert W. Sweet on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
