We work with you to create a personalized strategy to identify and achieve your career goals. From 1L specific programming to mock interviews, practice specific panels, and one-on-one coaching, our tailored tools equip you for success.

Responsible Lawyering
Part of the Academic Excellence Program, this innovative and interactive 1L class covers topics such as resume and cover letter writing, 1L summer job searching, networking and perfecting communication skills. The fall session ends with our Alumni Career Forum; the spring session focuses on interviewing.

Career Forum
Network one-on-one with successful legal professionals at our Annual Career Forum. Held every November, the event brings together students and over 80 attorneys in both traditional and nontraditional legal careers who answer students’ questions and give advice for entering the job market.

Summer Fellowship Program
Work alongside practicing attorneys in law firms, corporations, or government agencies after your first year (second year for part‑time students). Receive a $4,500 stipend and make valuable professional connections as you spend eight- to ten weeks gaining experience drafting legal documents, managing case files, conducting research, and attending client meetings and court proceedings.

The Career Services Office sends a weekly electronic newsletter to all students with recruitment opportunities, new job listings, and professional development programs offered both on and off campus.

Boston Bar and Massachusetts Bar Association Student Membership
You’re automatically enrolled as a law student member of the Boston Bar and Massachusetts Bar Association, which give you access to hundreds of free educational programs, networking opportunities, and social events. Many New England Law alums are active members and leaders in both groups.

Are their paid internship and fellowship opportunities?
Yes. Our summer fellowship come with a stipend as do our summer judicial internships.
Will I have an opportunity to network with potential employers?
Yes. We not only connect you with our vast alumni network, we sponsor law networking, employer panels, and other career-focused events.
How can I build interview skills?
The spring session of the Academic Excellence Program’s 1L Responsible Lawyer course focuses on interviewing.
Where can I find job opportunities?

Can I get help writing my resume?
Yes. Resume and cover-letter writing are a key component of the Academic Excellence Program’s 1L Responsible Lawyer course; we also offer one-on-one assistance.
I’m not sure I want to work at a law firm. Are there other options?
