Annual Commercial Law Conference
Is the Uniform Commercial Code meeting today’s finance and technology needs? Is the code still relevant in light of new real estate payment systems? Each year, the Center for Business Law assembles distinguished panels of practitioners and scholars to consider questions like these, allowing students to apply their growing legal knowledge to timely, real-world business issues.
Co-sponsors of the conference have included the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Uniform Commercial Code Reporter-Digest.
Compliance Focus
The new and booming field of compliance law offers intellectual challenge and influential jobs. The Center for Business Law is one of the few law schools in the country to focus on this area. With a Compliance Advisory Council of knowledgeable practitioners from the compliance field and internships and programming, the center’s compliance focus provides New England Law students with multiple options for learning and involvement in this fast-growing field.
Public Service Business Project
The Center for Business Law faculty members often help students pursue business-related pro bono opportunities, such as the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, as well as volunteer work on behalf of nonprofits.
