The Lawyering Experience
0 Credits (Required)
The Lawyering Experience (TLE) is a required program of weekly sessions designed to aid students in their first year of law school to identify and pursue appropriate professional career paths. TLE faculty, career services experts, alumni, and others join students in weekly exercises aimed at developing job-seeking skills, such as interviewing and networking; sessions also are designed to heighten awareness of the legal, personal, and lifestyle demands of various law careers. TLE introduces students to the law school's exclusive Summer Fellowship Program, through which all students completing their first year of study and part-time students completing their second year may secure summer internships supported by stipends supplied by the law school. TLE culminates in a major annual event: the Alumni Career Forum, through which first-year students meet and mingle with alumni practicing in a wide variety of legal settings and practice fields.
